kVA Ratings of Generators

Our generators all have a greater kVA rating than the kW rating. This is because we thought the appliances you’ll be powering have a load factor/power factor of 0.8, which means the load’s ‘assumed’ kVA rating will be greater. This is normal practise, and it’s generally better to scope the proper unit depending on the kW.
