The DHY8000SELR standby generator is the long-running version of the DHY8000SE, with a huge 30L fuel tank that extends the maximum running period of this standby diesel generator to 30 hours.

The DHY8000SELR backup generator has a maximum output of 6kW and is powered by a 4-stroke, air-cooled D452 Hyundai diesel engine. It uses the same AVR alternator that generates renewable energy. Although it will not be able to power everything, it will allow more vital home equipment to continue operating in the case of a power outage caused by the National Grid failing.

The DHY8000SELR supports ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch). For optimal convenience, ATS is an optional addition that can be connected to an ATS system. When the ATS module senses a loss of power from the mains supply, it simply turns up your generator and then shuts it down when power is restored from the mains. When controlled manually, this is also an electric start diesel generator, with a simple turn of the key being all that is required to start or stop the unit.

The DHY8000SELR, housed in a silent housing, is a very quiet machine that will not disturb you, your family, or your staff while powering your building. With a sound rating of 70dB At 7 metres, you won’t be able to hear the generator while it’s running.

Economical Back-up Power

The DHY8000SELR diesel generator is cost-effective to operate, consuming approximately 1L of diesel per hour. Because the DHY8000SELR can run on red diesel, which is substantially less than the diesel you put in your vehicle, it is the ideal backup choice for long run times.

Please keep in mind that this is a 3000rpm generator, which is suitable for backup power in the case of a power outage or for powering a workshop. For more frequent use, especially if running for significant periods of time every day (primary power), a 1500rpm water-cooled, slow-running generator with a substantially longer lifespan is recommended. The alternator is controlled by an AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) to keep the voltage as close to 230v as possible. Non-AVR alternators have a high voltage fluctuation and can damage sensitive electronic devices. It is advised that a pure sine wave inverter generator be utilised if a portable generator is required to replicate the mains supply.
