Hyundai’s HY3150S is an electric air compressor. Designed for professional workshops and trade applications, the HY3150S air compressor is ideal for spray painting, running air equipment, and inflating tyres in workshops and commercial garages.

Compressor for Professional Use

The HY30150S weighs 117kg and is equipped with four rubber anti-vibration feet. The 3hp electric motor is powered by a conventional 13amp 3-pin outlet in the United Kingdom, making it appropriate for use in a professional workshop or private garage.

The enormous 150-litre tank capacity ensures a consistent supply of air at a rate of 14cfm. The compressor’s dual Q/R ‘Euro’ style air outputs offer versatility by allowing two air lines or tools to be attached simultaneously.

Note on compressor care: Hyundai air compressors now include upgraded pressure safety valves that comply with the current CE certification criteria. The safety valve’s pressure release pull ring has been removed to prevent it from being utilised to drain air from the compressor tank, resulting in excessive valve wear.

Daily air and moisture should be drained from the tank using the drain valve situated on the bottom.

Weekly inspections of the belt tension and condition are recommended, as are checks for air leaks from hoses and connections, since these may significantly increase the amount of electricity required to maintain constant air pressure.

Single Phase 2.2kW/3hp

The HY3200S compressors are equipped with a single phase, 230v 50hz electric motor rated at 2.2kw/2200w/3hp. They come equipped with a 13 amp three-pin plug. The 13 amp plug will suffice for most do-it-yourself projects. However, if the air compressor is used at a duty cycle more than 50% (motor working more than half the time), it may be prudent to utilise a blue 16 amp plug.

Always connect the compressor directly to the electrical socket. If extension leads are utilised, a voltage drop may develop, increasing the current to the point where the 13amp fuse may burst. This may also be an issue in rural outposts where the mains voltage is less than 230v, in which case a 16amp blue plug is advised.
