What is the purpose of a scarifier?

Scarifying involves inserting stainless steel scarifying tines into the ground to remove compacted soil, moss, thatch, and weeds. Once these are eliminated, the lawn will be able to breathe and absorb nourishing chemicals, oxygen, and water once more.

You can use a lawn raker to remove dead debris, moss, and weeds that detract from the appearance of a lawn by preventing water from reaching the ground. The rotating rake aerates and scratches the ground, improving water drainage and oxygen absorption. The rake setting can also be used after each lawn mowing to remove any grass cuttings that your mower may have left behind.

Scarifying your lawn every 4-6 weeks between April and September is recommended for the greatest results in removing moss and thatch that has built up on the lawn.
